Isando

Isando is an industrial area in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni on the East Rand originally proclaimed in 1949. The area, named after the Zulu word for ‘hammer’, is easily accessed via the R21 and R24 freeways and measures 6.2k m² in area. Isando is predominantly zoned industrial catering to both warehouse and factory applications. The area is home to many heavy industrial users because of its infrastructure including availability of power and rail siding. Users including the likes of Teraco have taken advantage of this infrastructure and developed and expanded their data centres here. Users in the area include South African Breweries, Pepkor, Willowton, Caterpillar, Simba, Dawn Wing and Value Logistics. Major roads in the area include Electron Avenue which runs parallel with the R24 freeway, Isando Road, and Barbara ROad.
